PROFESSOR CARMEN-AIDA HUTU, Ph.D., MSOD
Dr. Carmen Aida Huţu is an organization development professional with over 20 years of academic and corporate experience. She is a Romanian who has been working nationally and in international academic and business environments.

At present, Dr. Huţu is Professor of Corporate Culture and Leadership, Organizational Behavior & Management Skills, Human Resources Management, Quality Management, Innovation Management, Technology transfer, and Research Methods in Organizational Studies at the Department of Management, "Gh. Asachi" Technical University of Iasi, Romania.

Dr. Hutu is also a Visiting Professor at the Canadian MBA – Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest and other 5 MBA Programs around Romania, and was invited to give lectures at the Technical University of Crete, GR and Universidade do Minho, PT.

After graduating with a Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Dr. Huţu worked as an operations, design and research engineer with several Romanian companies and research institutes, focusing on new technologies and socio-technical systems.
In 1990 she started her academic career with the Department of Management at "Gh. Asachi" Technical University of Iasi.

The Fulbright grant awarded in 1994 presented her the opportunity to build Organization Development and Change consulting skills in multicultural business environments (Master of Science in Organization Development from Loyola University Chicago - MSOD). Moreover, her doctoral and post-doctoral research projects focused her interests on corporate culture, cultural diversity, intercultural communication with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe and the European Union, quality management, quality approaches in higher education, leadership and power in change, organizational behavior, management skills, human resource management, creativity and innovation, and technology transfer.

For the last ten years, Dr. Huţu has also intensively consulted with more than 20 Romanian companies and worked as an expert in 18 major international projects, "face-to-face" as well as in virtual teams. She also contributed as an expert evaluator for ENT/CIP/07/0001 “Services in support of business and innovation”, Bruxelles (2007), and FP6: NEST-2005-PATH-Cul. Remote. (2006); INNOV5. Bruxelles (2005); "Corporate Social Responsibility". Priority 7. Bruxelles (2003)

Her international experience includes working and learning in BEL, CA, DE, EE, ES, FR, GR, HU, IL, NL, PT, SL, UK, and the USA.

Carmen published over 100 works - books, articles and conference papers -, both nationally and internationally, from which:

• 8 books as sole author (one of them - Culture, Change, Competition: The Case of Technology Transfer in Romanian Companies, Economica Publishers, Bucharest, 2003 - was awarded the Prize of the General Association of Romanian Economists)

• 7 books as first author and contributor, from which 2 with international participation

• 22 articles and papers abroad

Her consulting, training and institutional building contributions have been focusing on organization development and change in Romanian and European environments, quality and excellence in business and in education, innovation in teaching and learning, adult learning, cross-cultural and minority issues (age, gender, etc.).
